Mr. Harry Cavanaugh
Principal
Harry Cavanaugh joined the faculty of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School as a principal/teacher in July 2011.  He primarily teaches English/Spelling to upper grade students.  His experience includes 20 years as a teacher, 9 years as a Guidance Counselor and one year as a principal of Bunker Hill High School.  In the fall of 1999, he became principal of Gillespie High School, where he remained for 5 years.  After that, he became Superintendent of Schools in Lebanon, IL, a position he held until his retirement in 2010.  After a year of retirement, he came to Ss. Peter and Paul School.

Mr. Cavanaugh attended Eastern Illinois University and received a degree in Business Education in 1969.  He received his Masters of Education in Counselor Education from SIU-E in 1978, a Specialist in Educational Education Administration from SIU-E in 1997 and his Superintendent’s Endorsement from SIU-E in 2009.

Mr. Cavanaugh lives in Gillespie, IL with his wife Patricia.  He has three grown children, Gregg, Erin, and Whitney and seven grandchildren.  He enjoys reading and traveling.                                                                                    

Mrs. Sandy Duty
Secretary
Sandra Duty joined the staff of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School as the Secretary in July 1989 and primarily focuses on office and administrative duties.  Sandy came to Ss. Peter and Paul after working in the dental field for eight years.
Mrs. Duty graduated from Alton High School and lives in Alton with her husband.  Sandy enjoys spending her free time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Audrey Bolt
Pre-Kindergarten
 

Audrey Bolt joined the faculty of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic School as a Preschool Teacher in 2012 and primarily focuses on development in literacy and math.  Experience includes over ten years working with children and five years of classroom work.

Mrs. Bolt attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and received a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

Audrey lives in Granite City with her husband Brad and they enjoy spending time with the Office of Marriage and Family Life through the Diocese of Springfield.

Mrs. Teri Lyons
Kindergarten

Teresa Lyons joined the faculty of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School as a Kindergarten/second grade teacher in 1978 and primarily focuses on teaching all elementary subjects.  Teresa’s experience includes teaching Kindergarten, second third and sixth grade.

She attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and received a degree in Elementary Education.

Mrs. Lyons lives in Godfrey with her husband and enjoys cooking, sewing and gardening.

Mrs. Paula Malone
First Grade

Paula Malone joined the faculty of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School as the First Grade teacher in 1995.  She teaches all subjects in the first grade.  Paula also directs the Saints Peter and Paul Children’s Choir.  Prior experience includes working as a special education assistant at Eastwood Elementary.

Paula is a graduate of Marquette Catholic High School.  She received her Associate in Fine Arts from Monticello College and her B.S. in Education from SIUE.

Mrs. Malone lives in Alton with her husband Bruce and youngest daughter Ellen.  Paula enjoys music, gardening, cooking and spending time with her seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Barbara von Almen
Second Grade

Barb von Almen joined the faculty of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School as a 4th grade teacher in 1984 and primarily focuses on Elementary Education.  Experience includes teaching 3rd and 4th grades.

Barb attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and earned a degree in Elementary Education.

Mrs. Von Almen lives in Alton with husband Bob and 2 cats and enjoys cooking, baking, exercising and crafts.

Mrs. Cathy Rose
Third Grade

Cathy Rose joined the faculty of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School as a 3 rd grade teacher in 1978 and primarily focuses on Elementary Education.  Cathy is experienced in teaching 2rd, 3rd, and 4th grades.

Mrs. Rose attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and received a degree in Elementary Education.

Cathy lives in Alton with her husband Chris and beagle Molly and enjoys cooking and playing with her grandchildren.

Ms. Kendra Eberhart
Fourth Grade

Kendra Eberhart joined the faculty of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School as a 4 th grade teacher in 2013 and primarily focuses on teaching general education.  Prior to teaching at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Kendra taught at the Goddard School and as a substitute teacher.

Miss Eberhart attended Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and received a degree in Elementary Education.  Kendra lives in Alton with her cat, Blue, and enjoys reading in her spare time.

Mrs. Brenda McElligott
5th/6th Grades

Brenda McElligott joined the faculty of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School as the 5th and 6th grade homeroom teacher in 2012.  Brenda’s experience includes almost three years at the Catholic Children’s Home Special Day School and three years at Sylvan Learning Center.

Mrs. McElligott attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville receiving a degree in Elementary Education with Middle School endorsements for Language Arts and Social Science.  She is currently working towards her endorsement for Special Education.

Brenda lives in Jerseyville with her husband Peter and son Raymond.  She enjoys traveling and playing the piano.

Ms. Anna Leads
5th - 8th Grades

Anna Leeds joined the faculty of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School as a middle school teacher in 2012 and primarily focuses on math.  Experience includes two years of substitute teaching in the Alton School district as well as other private schools in the area.

Ms. Leeds attended Greenville College and received a degree in Education.

Anna lives in Alton and enjoys reading, logic puzzles, walking her dogs Max and Madison, and going to movies.

Ms. Katie Lyons
7th/8th Grades
 

Katie Lyons joined the faculty of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic School as a 7/8 grade teacher              in 2010 and primarily focuses on teaching science to grades 4-8. Experience includes  student teaching and subbing in schools around Alton.                                

She attended Eastern Illinois University and received a degree in   Elementary Education with a Middle School Endorsement.

Katie lives in Godfrey and enjoys reading and pinning things on Pinterest.
